Got the intercooler from here on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140476694196&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT). All that is needed extra is a SFS bayonet coupler and some 60mm pipe for the bottom. For the top I had a SFS THS169 hard pipe but you could again use a SFS bayonet coupler along with some 60mm piping. Fitted nicely and in all cost me £99.99. It's a steal considering GodSpeed who made it also make the intercoolers for Forge apparently :afro:

If anyone wants to go down this route I have a few spare SFS couplers I can part with.

So you haven't blown it up yet then?
-
Whats the difference between this and the standard? Much gains
-
Twice the size and I will do some logs soon :afro:
-
Wish this came up a few weeks ago as my standard replacement from GSF + fitting cost me twice that.

You done any logs yet?

Funny you should say that :)
Its hard to get the same logs back to back. This is a 40-80 sprint In the same gears. Used the same bit of road. There was a 3* difference in temps (Today was 3* colder). What does everyone think [*-)] I was expecting 5* or something but not this.

the temp figures are a bit meaningless but the thing to look at there is how the ramping flattens out with the better intercooler, thats when its really working.

The what?
-
the ramp up of the graph it peaks and holds instead of rising
or, "the hilly bit has a flat top now" if you prefer

Now your talking
Did get a 60mph hold in 6th and it hit and stayed at 27* where as before it was 36*.
What's you take on the "diesels prefer hot air" conundrum?
-
Yeah I always read that the dervs love love hot and run much better hot, hence why I could never understand when people have a cold air feed on the dervs as witinh a second or two the cold air will be hot.
Does it drive any different? Economy, power any different?

will this fit a 1.8t by any chance ??

Yep it's designed for the 1.8T. Your going to have fun trying to get one. I got the last in the batch. Over on Ukmkiv they are going to run a group buy so I'll keep you updated.
