Title: brake discs and pads what type?
Post by: marcogolfo on 08 February 2005, 13:27
Hi I have a mk 2 16v d reg 1987, what size pads and discs will i need??   Couldnt work out if they were the 239 or 256 discs.
Also my mate says there wont be any noticeable difference between the pads or discs that i choose.  Is it worth paying extra for the other ones?
cheers
marco

Pretty sure they are 256mm. id go for Diamond Black Grooved and Drilled With Black Diamond Predator pads, theyre an awesome combination.

Looking at the pics in ur sig i would say they are 239mm. However, just whip ur wheel off & drop a tape measure (or vernier caliper if u wanna be proper accurate) across them to be certain

yeah i think they're 239 because of its age, cant remember when it changed to bigger ones. on a budget the best set up seems to be zimmerman disks and pagid pads from german and swedish.
