Title: Dodgy Temp Gauge?
Post by: thatwillis on 16 November 2010, 21:30
Hi Guys and Girls

I saw the other thread on temperature gauge but my symptoms are slightly different.

The temperature gauge would some times not move at all when I have been driving for 20 mins.  It would also get to temperature then drop randomly.

This morning i started the engine and the temperature light came on beeping at me although there was no fluid or over heating.

Am i right in saying it needs the temperature sensor replacing?

Cheers
James

Could be the thermostat if not the coolant sensor?

Is the coolant sensor the one in the expansion tank? That looks lovely and easy to change?
