Title: finally got servo out and replaced
Post by: seiko on 16 November 2010, 21:18
Well finally changed the servo on my mk5 gti, it is not a simple job if any one is thinking of having a go, it can be done with the engine in the bay, just, you will have to remove the master cylinder and the exhaust manifold and turbo, then using two trolley jacks one under the sump and one under the transmission, take the engine mounts off both sides, engine and transmission, also disconnect both intercooler pipes, disconnect flow and return water pipes to the heater matrix, then slowly lower the engine aprox 6 to 8 inches and you can just about wiggle it out,

I took pictures of the job, so if any one ends up in my position having to change the servo, I would be happy to email them, not sure how to post them up as I am a new member finding my way around this forum
