I have now got my conversion up and running, only problem is is that the revs are now fluctuating on idle and running rich. I think there may be a dodgy connection onot the air flow meter, would this cause that sort of problem?
Also i have a serious flat spot at 5500rpm, so much that when im in gear it wont rev over that, but when out of gear it revs all the way. any ideas?
thanks

i presume this is an agg /ady lump mate? if so, fluctating at idle is most likely the throttle body .BUT saying that its flat spotting at 5500rpm points to distributor as the agg/agy lump has a magnetic hall sensor which are prone to fail ( i know because mine went ;P) ,i would start by checking the timing with a timing light, its not adjustable because the ecu adjusts this . if that all checks out okay ,id be looking at the distributor setup. hope this helps!

Its a 2e block with 2e dizzy, its all timed up spot on. so not really too sure, we spent ages checking timing over and over.

hall sensor ,check resistances with multimeter,if all is okay,it may be breaking down under load, id see if you can get a second hand one from someone and give that a try mate.

sorted the pinking problem now, was the dodgy connection to airflow meter. remade the connector and its running sweet now, only problem is that flat spot at 5500rpm, anyone else had this problem as its driving me nuts how i lose power over 5500rpm.
Thanks

sounds like it's in limp mode. need to set the dissy position a bit better

I know what your flatspot problem is....You've run out of valves
8v's do peak at 5500rpm and it is noticable, but not as much as not revving over it when in gear....Either timing is off, or distribuitor is faulty.
