Title: Bought another MK4 Project
Post by: chrisr103 on 16 November 2010, 17:52
Whilst browsing the internet the other day I stumbled upon a MK4 Golf 4 Motion that seemed quite cheap, It was a cat D repaired but with some little mods done to it.

I decided to go to see it with the intentione of buying it, Putting it back to standard & selling the mods then selling the car back on when it was standard.

Went to see it & it drove really well, Couple of little faults like the Airbag light being on & a slight bit of laquer peel on the passenger rear quater. The last car I bought on a cat D had shocking paintwork but this one is alot better,All it needs is a good machine polish to bring a nice deep shine back to the whole car. I will hopefully have all the extras taken off this week whilst im off work & have the car up for sale at the end of the week.

The car is a Y reg 3 door 4 Motion, Showing 70,000 miles, MOT untill July, Taxed End of January. When its up for sale it will be the cheapest 4 motion on the internet!

Ill take some pics as im going along

Plans are to put standard sports seats in it, Alredy took the front valance & skirts off, Just need to find a replacement front valance.

Bought a set of replace ment wheels last night for it

Also gave it a quick going over with the buffer

That was a short project

Put the car on Gumtree on Wednesday night not expecting any interest straight away, Had a call at 8am on Thursday asking if they could come &  see the car! Arranged a viewing for 4pm

So spent all Thursday running around looking for a 3 door cloth interior, But couldnt find one local anywhere

I sent the guy a message saying would he be interested in a Leather Recaro interior for £200 ontop of the asking price? Replied saying yes & he 100% wanted the car.

4pm Came & he turned up, Took it for a drive & said he would have it!!

how much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking?

200 quite cheap for a black recaro interior.

Not too sure on the prices but I would say about £150 - £200 for the painting? Fit it your self & save a bit of cost.
