Post by: trafficfaceGTI on 15 November 2010, 22:19
my drivers side seat seems to be jammed in the worst driving positioned for my long legs, whats going on with the subframe?

is this a common problem i just want to slide it back, the passenger one is fine.

ive dwelt with that problem before. mine gets stiff at times and it seems you have to push STRAIT back to get the seat to move (if pushed even in the slightest angle seat wont move an inch). if that doesnt work then best advise i could give is compare a model (passengers side maybe?) of what its supposed to look like with what you got goin on with your drivers side. hope this helps.
after you get it fixed to the distance you want it back just dont eff with it haha

have a look under the front seat while you move the slider handle, it might be the handle has popped out of the release pin? if not see if seat slides forward, if it does have a good look in the chanels to make sure summat hasnt fallen in there and jammed the seat

Has it ever moved?

Spray some grease on the runners. Might help.

I had bother with one of mine. Ended up giving it a gentle tap with a hammer at the front. It moved!

i couldn't push it in any way, so i had a look under as best i can and i saw the spring move back and forth fine, so it might well be a physical jam in the runners, its greased up fine too.
