any diff between the gti ones and ones for a TDI (1997 model)

if its a 5 stud they're the same, if 4 stud they're not. cant remember for sure if tdi is 4 or 5 off top of my head, think its 4?

TDI is 4 stud.

then the wishbones are different. need ones from any mk3 4stud :)

Good to know that,thanks.I have 2 wishbones off a vr6 5 stud i was gunna polybush,but seing as my car is a 4 stud im not gunna bother,you have saved me some time and money.Cheers :grin:

Wider, as in wheel out further type wider...but the 'Plus' geometry of the wishbone/hub meant it wasn't really wider. Just different.

no, they are not wider. all mk3s are widetrack regardless, even weedy little 1.4.
the differences are the anti roll bar mounting, and the ball joint fixing. the ball joint is also placed further forward on the 5 stud wishbone, so if you mix n match 4-5stud bones you'll throw out the castor
