I have had same issue yesterday & had to get GSF to give me a new battery as the last one failed to start the car in the morning... and was only just 12 months old....
Did want to upgrade to a Bosch but they wouldn't ave it.... I've had it with GSF branded goods now - this is the 3rd battery in 12 months as my Audi one also failed...
Anywhere between 12.9 & 14.5 Volt on tickover should be fine to charge it AFAIK...

I know what you mean this is my second GSF battery not that impressed

All cheap end lead acid batteries are the same with different stickers on, if you don't want to be swapping batteries every couple of years (or less) then fork out £150+ on a proper one and just swap it between your cars if you buy/sell a lot

Valid point - BUT when the sellers gives a 3 Year warranty with it - Its fair to expect that its good for "at least" that amount of time...
Off to Halfrauds with my Trade card next time!!

As I write my GSF battery is on the charger in the kitchen. Ironically it failed on me in the GSF car park in Swansea. They had to bump start me.
Agree that batteries should be expected to last the length of the warranty. Mine has given up the ghost becuase I left the golf standing for 8 months and it went flat.
So I may plump for the one that Khare bought.
