Title: Engine Hissing
Post by: AlexMozza on 11 November 2010, 13:23
my engine seems to hiss, a little but like a snake in rhythm with the engine. as in one hiss per cycle :O
ill try and get a video for you guys. i think it may be a vacuum hose or breather hose my have a rip/tare in it.

Any ideas - the noise speeds up with higher revving :O

Check the breather pipe that comes out of the block at the front of the engine, they do split with age.

My 8v also does this, and I have a re con engine with only a 1000 miles on it. Is yours an AGG? My old ADY didnt do it.

Maybe a vacuum leak somewhere? Try and spot whereabout the hissing is from, maybe one of the spark plug bores if it's done on a cycle  :undecided:

Yeh its probably split where it goes into the block and been taped up,is the green horse shoe clip still holding it in?,if the hose is split then you can still et these from the dealer, part number is on the underneath of the hose
