Title: Mk2 2.0l 8v Project
Post by: rossbarry1 on 10 November 2010, 07:36
I have the green injectors from the 2.0l mk3 engine or the standard grey i think from my 1.8 digi. I would assume i use the green ones. Im currently building up the new engine, 2e block and 1.8 stage 3 pb head, i will also be putting on a 4-1 manifold and a stainless exhaust system (when i find some money). Anyone got any other ideas of what i could do to improve?

Thanks

2e and mk2 digi injectors are completely different shape so you have to use the mk2 ones regardless. whats the bosch number on em i can check flow rates for you?  i used some vaux 'cream' ones from a 2.0, slightly uprated over 1.8 digi ones but not so much that they would flood the engine. with the co tweaked it seemed to go pretty well :)

I was planning on using my existing 1.8 pb cam, unless using the 2.0l cam will show improvement?

To be honest if the stage 3 head has bigger valves (which it should do) then you would be better to run a 272 or 285 profile to get the best out of it.

Also would be worth looking at a remap.

remap or chip? running on a bit of a budget at the moment was looking to change the cams at a later date. which is best to use in the mean time?

Remap would be better, use the pb cam as a short term option.
