I think the replies will depend on the the car owned by the person posting

Helios Blue.
Absolutely gorgeous colour when the sun hits it. Oscillates between purple, blue and green.
-
Is it just me, or does the MK2 do blue really well?
Monza blue on a series 1 - divine
Helios Blue Campaign, beautiful colour
Bright blue metallic, what a shame they didn't do them in 16v
Royal Blue, nice hint of green in the sunlight
Schwartz-blau, not seen one in the flesh, but look nice in the pics
And, one of the rarest on a GTI and underrated:
Medium Blue, especially on a big bumper GTI, like this:

Yeah still about, just very busy with work. I remember your old barn find, shame the rot had taken hold in quite a big way, got a few spots to sort out on mine to be honest though!
-
just to update the car was originally a small bumper d reg in alpine white. like the idea of monza or royal blue but didnt these come out at the end of the mk 2 production?. my boss likes jada green to, as i think it was an early mk2 production colour.
-
Swartzblack
Atlas grey
Rallye Red
-
DANG!! hard choices here, just 3?
Favourite is the car on my drive, Monza valver (wish it was a type 19 though)
Jade is awesome.
Royal blue, loved that car
Black rocks as does Atlas grey and BBM
Arrrghhhhhhh knew it would be hard. Easier if you picked a base colour say blue or green etc and asked on the shade of colour maybe

You dont see many silver cars, contrasts really well with the black trim. Although a very boring colour on most cars!

I love tornado red, black is tasty aswel! mmmmm & white.

My 60 is Tornado red and had it resprayed the same to keep it original. But Oak Green does look beautifull if kept looked after.
-
White paint on black bumpers look the best.
Then the early silver.
Not a fan of complete colour coding bumpers. Keep your black trim black.
-

Mine is an early F reg in Monza blue, It had small bumpers but i stuck the big ones on,
I only seen others on a D reg,
And mine was imported from Germany
-
Monza blue was optional on 87 (quaterlights) and 88 small bumper cars, so D, E and early F plate. I only recall seeing it on 16V's though.
Helios blue is my favourite, closely followed by Monza and Bright blues.
-
Yeah i think it was only 16v that got it,
I have had about 4 people this month stop me an ask me if i selling it lol
-
beechy monza can yougive me your paint code? as if it was out on a small bumper model i would be very intrested in painting my project that colour as my initial choice was jade green metalic but no one nows the paint code apparently!! also could you pm me some pictures of yours (as many as poss?) thanks
-
This is the sticker in my Logbook,
(http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt330/madbeech/DSCF2168.jpg)
The code is on there isnt it,,
-
yes mate nice one Ld5y what a colour if it came out on 8 valves could be my choice unless i can track down jade green but it does not look good and i only like getting paint mixed if i have a can of vw original paint ( only way to get factory colours properly). thanks again mate.
-
As others have said Monza blue was available from the start of 16v production for 2 years (so roughly 86 to 88) as a special order on 16v's only.
-
