Title: tracking alignment

can anyone help me out need to know roughly what it costs to align and balance the mk2 need to get it done this week and am a little tight on funds.

Just cost me ?35 for camber and tracking to be set from a local tyre and exhaust garage.

just got it done for ?30 alignment and camber setting and now ive had teh socket set out putting the steering wheel straight as its like a quarter turn out :S must have done it when i did the intermittant wipers :S

place in Belfast. give you a print out of the car before hand and then after. obviously there aint any adjustment that can be made to the rear but at least i was able to get the thrust angle of the car measured to make sure the rear axle is straight!!

As you said, the only point of have the rear tracking/camber checked is to check for wear or damage on the rear axle/suspension.

or if you hit a something hard at 60mph :S and everytime after it you brake and the car does a kinda weird spin where the front goes left and the back goes right at same time  :rolleyes:  was scary as sh*t

i left the place i had tracking done and passed a garage advertising full laser tracking for ?15 :S

i paid 78 to get my tracking camber and 2 tyres fitted, think i was robbed

Demon Tweals in wrexham is where i had it done!

sounds ok paul for 2 tyres aswell even for cheapo tyres i paid ?50 for 2 couple weeks ago so cost you ?2 less than me :P
and before anyone asks why i didnt get the tracking done then its because they only do tyres and balancing and nothing else and being almost neighbours with them i was being lazy and not going somewhere better :P

anyone in london wants decent tyres and a good service  when putting them on etc ie careful with the paintwork :P try eden tyres in lewisham not the catford one there scammers and been on tv few times for ripping ppl off used to be called catford tyres :S

The 70 nicker was just to Fit the tyres that I supplied, track balance and do the camber.

kwikfit says it all tho :S

not always true what people say cause there still in business and alot of people use them but my dads mate had his tyres and alignment done in his local kwikfit went on holiday and had problems with vibrations on motorway took it to a kwikfit on holiday and gave them the receipt and they did a free check and said it was well out and tyres wernt the ones on the receipt same make differnt speed catorgory suppose to be H but they sold him R's.
