Title: Is this an alternator issue?

Driving home from work tonight, had the wipers on normal, headlights on (not main beam) but as i was accelerating out of a slip road up to 60 light light under the battery symbol started glowing dimly, i realise this is alternator related but could it be a slipping belt causing it or is it new alternator time?

try adjusting the belt first see if it helps

Buy a cheap multi meter stick it on the positive and negative terminals comming of the alternator, check if its over 14.4V if anything less than 12V its needs a refurb or an exchange.

Cheers for suggestions, i have a multimeter, I'll check a bit later, adjusting the belt is a bit of a bind as the 'star' wheel is mashed, aluminium pinion on a steel rack was never a good idea.

Dont know where in the uk you are, but here in the midlands its rained all day, the belt used to slip on my old driver everytime i splashed through a puddle, a new belt and abit more tension sorted it.
