Title: engine compatability

Ok, so my mk2 16v has run dry and the bottom ends had it.. is the head off mine compatible with the bottom end of a mk3 2 litre? Or the 8v bottom ends?

Obviously taking into account oil galleries, coolant run ways, compression issues etc?


New to golf ownership so not sure whats common engine conversion wise :)

Just go and buy a rotten 2.0 16V Golf3.

Pull the engine and loom and swap to running electronic fuel injection rather than nasty old K-Jet.

Better economy and more power.  Suits you, sir.

As above sound advice ABF is a very good choice.
