Title: gti ignition problem

got a bit of a problem with my mk3 already. 2 days later.
wel the car starts fine and as soon as i let go of the key it switches of. however sometimes it stays on.it usualy starts straight away when cold and when hot it takes da pi**. any ideas?

you got yourself a dodgy ignition switch / barrel mate, i have the same trouble with my mk2

I would suggest changing the barrel

thanx mate. any ideas how much it wil cost from a scrappy? and how easy r they to put in.
also can it be out of any mk3 golf or doesit have to be from a gti

have got the igniton barrel but cant find any1 to put it in. was wondering if it is possible to wire a button start to solve the problem.
