That looks a good buy  I would have preferred it without those fan carrier lugs on though....

I'm sure its facing the wrong way in the picture?
Or are you suggesting the lug holes are on both sides? :undecided:
TBH I won't know until monday and plus I'm knackard from a hard days work, not on the car though...

Pic is of the back of the radiator, and shows the 4 tapped lugs that the fan carrier locates to, 2 between the inlet/outlet pipes the other 2 on the other end of the rad, what Im say is that if it was my rad, I would not be using the OE fan that mounted to the heavy steel carrier, I would be fitting a "Pacet" fan that secures directly to the radiator core, and therefore no need for the lugs...
Again, if it was me, I would contact the company, and ask if it would be possible to have one without the lugs... as It could be that they are made to order, and not kept as stock, just a thought... looks a great product though, we have paid 6 times that amount for similar hand made products for our race cars, and baring in mind that materials alone would cost about £40/50 then the best part of a day folding the parts, and TIGing together... bargain

Yeah Thom funds just don't go that far anymore £50-£60 seems a lot to me these days, and a Pacet slim line would be agreeable.
Aren't their mount lugs for the wind deflectors on the front of the Rad both sides?

Pacet fans come up on ebay all the time, and in a lot of cases, next to nothing! fitting kits are also available on ebay for around a fiver
Wind deflector mounts, not sure tbh without looking...

Good luck fella it does look good! They sent me an email if I show them a picture on my golf before and after shots they will give me £10 off my next purchase

I can't believe the cost of one these days its not complicated why its that expensive, I think its the short supply of manufaturing. I'm not impressed with the ECP one which is what I've got its rusting behind the plastic mount and I think it was about £45-£50 from them?
-
Let me know how they fit. Im sure 8 and 16v ones are pretty much the same. pipes etc..

16v ones are much shorter Then the 8v ones but I think the 16v ones are either double or triple cored for more efficient cooling.
-
8v Rads are longer which is why on the Rad cowl its massive.
The 16V is smaller, but thicker If I remember rightly?
I found the G60 8ver got hotter than any 16Ver I've driven!
-
ok who paid Winning bid: £101.00 [ 29 bids ] :lipsrsealed:
-
Not me! I gave in at £59
-
Someone really wanted that they must have proxy bidded over £100 to win at that price I've seen people increase the bids if they are too low like the zaust for sale sometimes. I hate people who set up dummy accounts and just increase it for sake of money kills the ebay Ethos for me big time. Thats why I stick to a price and refuse to go higher the best way is to bid @ 11 seconds so you won't have time to increase the bid, even if you want to out of pride
-
Well watching the next one in line now! I refuse to pay anything more than you did Jay cause now I'll feel like I'm being ripped off!
-
LOL haaaa Yeah I know where you're coming from fella and completely agree, but I think mines a fluke I worried about limited supplies I'm sure they look identical to the Chinese imported ones for sale around £99+£45 delivery?
Anywhere around the £70-£80 is a bargin which is about half of retail price on it
-
The one that went for £101 has just been relisted  obviously the buyer has read this thread!
-
You think so? I always thought as he sold in volume and he just relists the original ad to save time re-advertising?
:undecided:
-
possibly,i just got an email saying the item you where watching has been relisted
