Title: Heater heat problem
Post by: allybally on 03 November 2010, 21:34
My sister in law has bought the Golf Mk5 2007 1.4 fsi (170bhp)
The problem is the heater won't blow very hot air on luke warm air when the dial
is turned round to the red dot past the 26.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
There is no engine temp gauge on dash and VW in Ayr say the temp is ok
but trust me guys it's not! and it take ages to even get to that sort of temp 20 mins approx.
This is the same control unit as hers.

I believe the small button thing below the rear demister & recycle is a sensor is that correct?
The Econ button on hers is A/C.

Any ideas guys would be of much help as she has only had the car a couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance.

Has the car an Aux. Heater?  If so check fuses. (Gives faster heater warm up)

(Also "Econ" means that that heater runs about 15% when lite). I now never have mine lite.
