Title: Clutch pedal to high

need help have a golf gti mk4 but the clutch pedal is a lot high then the brake and accelerator,
probably a go 5-6 inches above the other tewo pedals , and the 5-6 inces are free play in the pedal then it bites the clutch, defo not slipping coz tried alsorts to get it too slip.
 doing my head in now

any help or advice would be great

you bein serious 6 inches above the other peddles ?? that would be in the dash no lol.. can only think something has been fitting really bad..
