Title: Windscreen water squirter thingeys

Hi there

My windscreen squirty jets have very little power and struggle to pump the water to the anywhere near the top of the screen, is it just a case of replacing the pump on the side of the water bottle???

Any help advice appreciated.

is it the jets not squirting nice or are they just aimed too low?

jets may just need cleaning out.  take em off the car and give a good rinse under the tap, pokey down the ends with a pin see if you can dislodge any crap buildup.
while you're there check pipes for kinks and splits, also look at the washer bottle. if its all full o crud they'll just get blocked again. clean it out inside as best you can.  if all that fails try jumping the pump with 12v from the battery, if its better you might need to change the stalks or the pump

I have fancy heated wsher jets on my mk2, and it was the rotten old heating part that spoiled my flow (part of the jet assembly). A replacement set of jets sorted that out, and when winter gets going i'll see if the new heater elements work!

So thats a +1 for cleaning/replacing the jets.

My lads stopped working properly due to the hose that joins on the jets being old and hardened and was leaking... Cut off an inch of pipe and pushed them back on and work great now!!

if its the plastic jet on the bonnet iv have 1 spare would post to you if you want it, oh of coarse totaly free.
