Title: Hazard Lights not working
Post by: moby dick on 02 November 2010, 08:50: Hiya. The hazard light function has stopped working on my 90 Mk2. The indicators are working fine but when i press the hazard switch on the steering wheel neither the lights nor the indicators flash. I get a steady green light on the indicator light on the dash. I had a look for the fuse on the fuse guide at http://golfgtiguides.co.uk/guides/list-of-fuses/ but it doesn't list a specific fuse for the hazard lights unlike the pre 88s. Fuse 16 says warning lights but I'm not sure if thats the dash lights or the hazards, Anyway the guide says that should be a 10 amp fuse and I have a 15amp sitting in that slot.

Any advice warmly welcomed

does sound like the hazard switch is at fault, which means you have to replace the whole indicator stalk. check the red/yel wire to pin 30 on the stalks gets permanent live though

Post by: daniel-1986 on 02 November 2010, 18:54: take the lower tray off under the steering wheel and there shud be a big block underneath to the left with wires connected to it, squeeze it together and see if they work. i had this trouble with mine

Thanks, I guessed it wouldn't be as easy as the fuse

as above, check my link. covers both pre and post-90 fusebox. also shows you what all the relay numbers mean too. there are 2 fuses for pre-90 indicators, #4 and #19
