Title: exhaust warning light
Post by: big_el on 31 October 2010, 22:33
can anyone shed some light on this it has come up on my dash.

it lit up a few weeks ago on the way back from liverpool and i went to take it the garage the next day and it went off so i left it and it came back on tonight with a really strange sound from the engine. its a similar sound to one my mk4 had which ended up being coil packs.

anyone else had this come up and the sound ?

Could be a whole number of things. You need to get it plugged into VAGCOM.

he got it down to a coil. he has said there looks to be oil in one of the spark plug holes. what could that mean ? he thinks it could be a seal but that would need a lot of work to replace he said

When mine came up on the dash it cost me just shy of £500.00 as it was a sensor in the engine that needed replacing which had to be done before the car was mapped.....

As already stated get the car looked at.....
