Hey guyss
my friend has 2 Pioneer subs, extremely loud, the problem is, when standing outside of the car it sounds like the window or roof is shaking, is there anyway to prevent this? :D Thanks alott
-
deadening the roof and any other panels that are flexing will make the world of difference

how do i do that? lol
-
Buy some sound deadening and stick it to where ever it vibrates.
-
this is what they mean http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A3445&rt=nc&_nkw=dynamat+extreme&_dmpt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1  (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A3445&rt=nc&_nkw=dynamat+extreme&_dmpt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1 )

what if its the rear number plate that vibrates lol? :)
-
tighten the screws on the plates? check to see if theres any cracks in the plates or in the plate surrounds?
do you really have noise coming from the plates shaking? you would have to have a pretty big sound system to make plates vibrate enough to be able to hear them IMO
-
just stick some of that dynamat at back of plate or do what mcgee9t2 said, my plate vibed with 2 12" farenheit subs  you could even see the roof would warp
-
When you start getting into big bass systems your fighting a loosing battle. Mine is going through a stage of loosening screws and bolts at the moment.
Where panels are concerned your options are sound deadening or mdf. Other things you have to get a bit creative. My headlining makes an awful noise. All I can think of at the moment is to either take it out or try reinforcing it with Fiberglass.
Bass is a love hate relationship lol.

Bass is a love hate relationship lol.
LOL! But how much pleasure does it provide :afro:
My car vibrates to shiaaat! But at a certain volume i can drown out the vibrations and just hear clear bass
Unfortunately those poor sods out of the car think it sounds utter trash!
Only problem with dynamat is that it weighs a tonne! But to have an extreme system you cant really go fast ;)
Do you set of car alarms with your bass?
-
what sub and amps you guys got? :)
-
Vibe Bass 5 amp (3000watts) x1
12" Space II (3000watts) x2 In a dual AC enclosure
Standard components, Looking for inifinity/rainbows/focals when i finish with my running gear setup!
Ideally looking to upgrade my alternator and maybe think about running another battery (Already have an uprated one)
So i can purchase and run Another Bass5 amp so the subs are running at their full potential!
At full gains certain alarms start to sound  I look like a thingy but bugger me is it funny!

haha sounds sweet!!
what sub would set off a car alarm when driving past lol?
-
Ones pumping HARD
I am assuming the alarms that do go off are cheap shiatttyy ones since the german cars never do :(
Is banter though!
Cant wait to run them at their full potential though!

Thats my sub, although i didn't purchase it as one piece! And didn't cost me anywhere near that price :smug:

LOL what amp u using :L and is it ran off the standard car battery? lol
-
Vibe bass5 = amp, only wanted half power to run the subs in nicely!
uprated battery although standard alternator :(
Means at night the gains have to be turned right down so my lights dont dim :(
i hate having a lack of money :@
-
@johnny. Yeah I've set a few off. My favourites are jag x-type & jeep patriot at work. In the middle of rebuild. Check project 150db. The louder you go the quieter it seems. Sorry to sound harsh but your vibe amp is actually 1500wrms. Think the subs are 1000wrms each also. Manufacturers use peak figures to draw people into buying products.
@Brett. I'm running brand x 18inch sub in boot off a sundown 3500wrms mono. 3 uprated batts and standard alt. Power supply is changing dramatically over the course of the next 4months.
It's difficult to go fast in an 8v with hundreds of kgs of speaker.
-
@b-chi, i know mate! peak figures are generally used to describe subs to sound better  lol!
In all honesty my sound system is nothing special just 2 subs in a box in a boot :D
A sub is generally only as good as the box you put it in :afro:
(Saw some 15's a week ago in the AC box, But i really cant justify buying them :'()
-
Ive got a 15" JBL sub in a sealed box
JBL GTO AMP running in tri mode for sub and components
Infinity Reference components up front
Infinity Reference 6x9s running off the head unit for a bit of rear fill.
Also a 7"motorised dvd player as headunit with sd card and usb slots.
Want to wire in the power cap ive had in me workshop for a while.
Need to dynamat the tailgate though as the plate drives me up the wall.
Also looking for a yellow optima battery as let my old one go with my last car like a numpty.
i found the best places to dynamat are inside your door skins, under the rear seat,in the boot lid, underheadlining if excessive and in the wheel well in the boot.
Car wont move from the weight but it will sound nice
-
Don't worry about the power cap mate. It's just something extra for your power supply to deal with.
If it's to stop your light dimming your better off either.
Bigger battery
More of them
Bigger alternator
Bigger power cable
Or even wire your lights to the power cap instead lol.
-
Ahh sweet, cheers for the advice mate.Ive got a bigger ah battery on atm but going to go down the optima route again.
The feed is 0guage phonix gold stuff with the q-flat speaker cable.
Bigger diesel alternator kicking 90 amps would be a benefit too i guess, think the current one is about a 70amp.
-
You can fit a 95ah battery up front. Ive heard alot of negative about optima batts. Soo much better vfm out there.
0awg is ideal good for a couple of kilowatts.
Have you 0awg'd the engine power and ground aswell. This will help.
Bigger alt would be good but unless your really into really loud music. You can fit a 180a on a mk3.
-
I have done the engine earths but not the + stuff going to the pdb etc, when the vr6 lump goes in it will get done though.
180amp you say hmmm are we talking stupid money?Even if i dont need it i will want one  im weird like that. :rolleyes:Wouldnt even know where to look tbh.
What battery would you suggest?
(btw sorry for the thread hi-jack)
-
180a is around £150. Get 0awg on the pos as well mate. It'll help.
What power you running?
Battery wise depends on all sorts.
