Title: timing belt bottom pulley removal??

ok people may sound a strange one but im in the process of doing the timing belt on my mk3 golf gti 8v and i was wondering is there anyway of locking the engine up enough toremove the bolt that holds the crankshaft pulley on so i can remove the lower timing belt cover a quick response on this one would be great please thanks... Dan

thanks for all the responces but i done it.. for anyone intrested just undo the 4 alan key bolts and both pulleys WILL come off with a bit of help! lol
