Title: headlights always on when key turned

my headlights seem to be on all the time when im driving or when i turn the key to number II.  Has anyone had this problem before?
Or does anyone have any suggestions? iv'e done a forum search but cant find any other related threads

Mk3 Golf GTI (8v)

light switch works for everything but just cant turn off headlights.

what car would be a good start. could be the light switch when faulty. do you hear a beep or a buzzer when you open the drivers side door? any lights on the speedo stay on?

nope headlights are on soon as the car is started....everything else is fine...the buzzer isn't on(unless the switch is turned to on)

someone prob messed with the lighting like the volvo in sweden (i thinks) as its always dark?

Unplug it and see if they go out.

Unplugged the switch and the lights stayed on !!!

Back to square one !

Fault is in the headlamp wiring then

Or maybe a ign switch problem.
