Title: Going, Going, nearly gone.
Post by: gossa on 28 October 2010, 21:20
Yep, getting shot of the GTI, for a......black.........golf...........mk6................1.4S!!! Yes, a mind blowing 13.9 0-60!

Seriously, I'm not using the Golf, the wife is driving it a mile to work and back every day so I'm getting shot while I can still get good money for it. She wants a black golf and doesn't care what it is, we drove a 1.4 and I asked her how she found the speed in comparison to my mapped MK6, she couldn't tell the difference!

Just for your interest, my car is 5 door, manual, red, cloth, 18's, RCD510 and winter pack, July 09, 22,500 miles, I paid £23K for it and getting £19K back for it from a main dealer as PX against a very aggressively priced 1.4.  Good deal.

Nah, I have gone back to driving my van more than the car. Every time I get in the GTI I drive it flat out, I'm just asking for a nick to be honest.

Anyway, my van is pretty sweet:

Nice van Clive, is it remapped?

Good price on the GTI too. I haven't been using mine (except for the 600 odd miles I've done this week) so fiddled around with getting a price on it and either getting a company car or just a Diesel daily driver. Mine's a May 09 and the prices I was getting as a direct buy from VW dealers ranged from £17.5k to a little over £19k and mine only has 9000 miles on it. Best price so far was webuyanycar.com which surprised me greatly at £20k first valuation then £19.6k a couple of weeks later

I'm very tempted at the wbac.com price tbh, but the idea of a Diesel daily driver has waned a bit and thoughts of a Golf R ex-demo (seen a couple at £26k) or more likely an ex-demo Leon Cupra R at £23-24k being very tempting.

No Exo, not mapped but it's a 150hp Vito so it shifts pretty well and nowhere near as thirsty as the V6.

I got a very good price from WBAC.com too but a localish dealer beat it and sourced the car especially.

59 plate registered January 2010. Haven't got a link but there are a couple on vw.co.uk (windrush for example) at that money and mileage. I guess the new Golf Twist might be pushing used prices down?

Getting it from dealer in Exeter as I drive through there on a weekly basis.

They must be making a fortune on the finance to offer you a £1000 over the odds for your car, good luck with it anyway

Nope, taking my car and just over £9K cash for the 1.4s. Windrush offered the same.

Yeah, I have the GTI on finance as the rate was so low, so there's about £17.5K balance owing on it.

That's a fantastic looking van Gossa.... its a shame you getting rid of the GTI though but it makes sense I guess if your not driving it enough to get the full enjoyment out of it. All the best.

Your be back, you know you want a GTI really !!!
