Who did you go to for the advice for water/meth injectors?

The only reason for having water/meth injectors is to lower the temps on the engine/intake paths so you can crank up the boost, and have slightly more advanced timing plots.

The power boost is negligable on them from what I've read, and it will not give you a better set up than a FMIC would. However, getting them both working in parallel would yield some benefits.

What you need to remember is that a CI engine is a heat engine, not like petrol where really cold air = good.

Basically, unless you are going to track the car, or pull big loads up steep inclines then water/meth injectors are a little overkill.

FMIC it first, and you will not have the issues of worrying about constant maintenance and whether your turbo is about to go pop, or whether the manifold is about to make it's own warped shape up.

Okay thanks for that. The bloke that mapped it told me these things. He was probably just being general or something.

FMIC ? could you explain ?

Honestly I don't know which are the best kits for FMIC's so the best people to talk to would be the guys in the remap section. If you put a topic in there then one of them would be able to advise better than I would.

Although I would have a go on the search function first and see what that throws up.

Only proper FMIC kit for the 130 is sold by Forge

As Slick has already said water / meth injection really isn't worth it

Bloke running a 260bhp ARL engine even removed it from his setup as he found it to be of little benefit

So all other FMIC's aren't worth looking at ?
Say if i do get the FMIC is this all i would need to be able to support a larger turbo, if so, is there one ?

Forge are the only people who make a fit and forget kit.  Only other way you'll get an FMIC is buying the core and making up the pipework yourself

You can fit the 150 turbo and get that uprated(hybrid).  Max you'll see out of that will be 220bhp

To go beyond that you'll need new injectors and a bigger turbo.  A few people have started fitting the GT2260 from the 3.0 TDI engine found in the latest Audi's

With a proper setup, injectors, FMIC there are a few now running over 255bhp

okay, you seem to know your shizzle. But FMIC is a first though by the sounds of it.
Just looking for good performance gains for the money. As is everyone i guess!

To get true, reliable power starts getting very expensive beyond the 200bhp mark

The GT2260 needs a custom downpipe fabricated, along with a new fitting for the manifold and you need to convert the actuator from electronic to the 130's vacuum operated system

The one you're thinking of is designed for the 1.8T although I was chatting to THS a few months back about possibly trialling their front mount on the 130.  They said they had managed to fit it to a 110 so the thinking was with the right adaptors / hose connections it would fit the 130.

The Forge FMIC is specifically designed for the 130 although I'm assuming the core is the same as the 1.8T but the pipework is obviously different

Sweet, I might get in touch with them if I ever front mount my car
