Title: I officially give up at 17
Post by: Bellend on 27 October 2010, 23:08
All ready and waiting to insure my Golf today, frantic rushing around all ready for this evening, pick up my mate and go and test out the car!

Ooops, Admiral FORCE me to be the main driver, even though as the van has past it's use by date my dad was going to use it daily.

NOT fair at all. Even if I NEVER drove it, I STILL have to be the main driver.

Looking at quotes and that I can get insured on my dads for £2.8K but I refuse to pay that to be on my dads insurance. I'd consider it if it was in my own name.

Tomorrow I will be phoning a curfew insurance and that is my final hope.

But come 18 it looks like I may need to buy something like a Skoda.

Or pay a fee for my Golf and I'll have to put the standard suspension back on it.

Mine went up this year, not a lot but it went up.  Must be all the whiplash claims that go on these days.

Insurance premiums have gone up this year as two or three of the big companies have gone bust so the others can charge what they like !! Mine went up so I decided to shop around and two weeks ago found out that my Mark 3 can go on classic car insurance which is miles cheaper. Try Heritage Classic Car Insurance for a quote and the lower you keep your mileage the lower the premium. I was surprised to learn I could have a VR6 for just over half the price of a Mark 4 2ltr 8v GTI.
