Title: Ignition Barrel & Sticky Throttle Problems
Post by: mrwotto on 02 February 2005, 13:27
Hi have been having a small problem with my GL, to get the car to start i have to fire it up, apply some revs then fiddle with the key to keep the car running, its like the key is not stopping in the correct poistion in order to complete the ignition circuit.

Any Ideas or will I have to get a new barrel ?

Also my throttle is sticking at the carb end of the cable, i have drowned the mechanism a few times in wd40, but it is still sticking, again any ideas please?

Paul

Thanks for the helpfull advice chaps lol

Dont actually think it is the throttle cable I need to replace think the problem is the carb, or the bit that the throttle cable attatches to on the card.

Will go to the scrappies next weekend for  ignition barrel.

And btw its a 1.8

1.8 & 1.6 engines are identical in size :)

Edit: When the mech sticks, is the cable loose at the carb?
