A beautiful new car has arrived - saddow blue with Monza Shaddows - pics soon when I can take some decent ones.
One puzzle though. If its rained (or I've been washing it), when I open the doors there's a dribble of water that seems to run out from the bottom of the frame. Is this normal? Seems like water must be running down the glass and into the door. I guess it could be water trapped in the seal at the bottom
of the door frame, but it seems to come from the drainage hole at the bottom of the door. All the doors seems the same.
I should add that the car is parked on a slope, so perhaps this has something to do with it.
Anyone else noticed this? Wondering if I should take it back to the dealer?
thanks for advice!

No seems to be perfectly normal.
I've read about a few folk commenting on this.
My car sits on a level drive but if it rains and I open the door, the water doesn't half pour out. Its as if the doors being shut has prevented the water from escaping.

It is like a dog...car needs to lift it's leg to make a wee!

I've got a 59 plate BMW and that does exactly the same. The seals on the door at the bottom of the windows are not water tight, so rain goes down into the door, then when you open it the water drops out of the drain holes. It's certainly not the best way to go about it, but I guess there's not much choice otherwise it's a problem that would have been solved by now. Make sure you open all the doors after it's rained so that the water doesn't sit in the bottom of the doors longer than necessary.

Yes this is normal on mk6 Golfs even on Shadow Blue models this is because of the shape of the lower door seal they fit which retains water until the door it opened. I believe it can be as much as a litre when you open the the door, this has been commented on may VW Golf threads its just a design fault.
Oh I forgot to say. I'm told that VW modified these seals because customers complained of wind noise from the door and this was supposed to have cure this.

Phew! Seems odd to let the water run down the inside of the door like that - presumably they're confident it's not going to rust!

Yep same for me. Very annoying!

I can't say I've noticed that before. I wondered why there were a couple of paddles in my boot when I picked my car up

This is normal. Most cars do this.
