Post by: Gambit on 02 February 2005, 09:18
i assume the tyre has to be off the rim before you set about splitting the rim??

wheels in question are BBS RM 2-piece wheels

tyre doesn't have to be off but it'll make it easier without it.

yeah i had to hit the rim from behind to get it off. or you could take the bolts out and then inflate the tyre, that should pop it off

I had this problem i tried taking the bolts out then inflating the tyre one poped of with a huge bang the other ones just wouldnt come off because the rim is still held by that lip with the tyre and when i inflated them they just hissed out air and didnt have the force to pop off (sometimes your lucky some times your not) i had to get them removed in the end.
