Title: Morning, new from Essex
Post by: Jimmy Filth on 24 October 2010, 12:24
Hi,

I've just bought my first Golf GTi, a P-reg 16v Mk3 5 door in dragon green.  I'll start a project thread and get more pics up on there, but here is a pic as I bought it.

I'm on renegade dubs too and live just outside Chelmsford.

thanks guys, this is my first foray into GTi's, and I tell you what, it's freaking awesome.

Just had a blat back from hertfordshire and I'm astounded how good the car is to drive, why did I not commit sooner? haha.

Also, who do I contact for a build link in the project thing?

So today, in the break from the rain gave the car a quick clean and polish.  The rear bumper definately needs a respray, and I fully intend to properly renovate the paint and polish to a good finish when I get a free, dry day.

I also sprayed the rear spoiler black again as it was really very haggard and sun bleached.  My lovely lovely other half (the one I was late to pick up the other day) also used a trim restorer, which has really made a big difference to the overall look of the car.

Fitting the blackened grill badge over the next day or two.  Fitted aero wipers and a VR6 splitter today too.  Apart from sitting as high as a monster truck the car is coming along well.
