My Mk2 16v Keeps stalling, it seems to be after a decent fast run, it just wants to satl between ger changes revs drop all the way back, i got a feeling it's a fueling problem. Also as this is my first GTI 16v it just seems a bit sluggish, it's allright in 1st and 2nd but just doesnt like to pull in the higher gears, i thoght these wer meant to have quite a good top end on them but it seems to sturggle from 100mph to 110mph and i havent got it over that on the piece of road which ive toped 160 in my other car (mtm audi S2) easy.
Any help would be great this car is meant to be reliable so i dont pu tmiles on the audi but now it just seems a bit slow.

Should be of some help

sounds a bit like the vacume system isn't opening bits that stop the engine from stalling.

I'm trying to think what was wrong with my 16v. I had that exact problem - it would only cut out after a decent burn. I think we fixed it by changing the coil.
If its struggling between 100-110 then it could be something as easy as the lift pump and injectors.

When you push down on the big bit by the air intake it wont stall at all and as soon as you release pressure on it the revs drop and it stalls.?!?!?! Is that part of the vacuum system?
