Title: My car is so dirty from the salt on the roads
Post by: Bronze MK1 Cab on 01 February 2005, 13:57
I now live in the South Wales Valleys and they don't half use loads of salt on the roads around here.

My car gets black in no time

I'm glad that I used winter wheels now.

I hate having a cream roof as it looks terrible in the winter and it takes a few cleans in the spring to start looking cream again

Was thinking of putting my BBS rims back on in March, is that too early?

the back of mine just gets dusty. I just washed it all off and put another coat of wax on to try and help it stay clean. Just having lunch before attacking the windows. Also de-greased the engine with GUNK which cleaned it up a bit.

March should be ok, hard frosts are much less common by then so the council shouldn't be using salt anymore. I'm planning on getting my car out of hibernation at the start of march.

is that what you use to keep them clean? i use various ploishes but the outer lip never looks mirror finished. i've attacked it with a mop on a drill before and that does a good job!
