Need some advice guy's A bird has craped on my bonnet and its oxodised the paintwork ? I used warm water to get it off, then used some Dodo redmist but it still looks bad :sick:any advice please? thanks Steve
-
It may need a little polish to get rid of the remaining marks. How long was it on the paintwork for before removing?
-
Not sure mate been at work all day parked outside maybe few hours?

Me to,it was only on there a short and you`ve got no chance of removing it as it will have damaged the clear coat. b loody pigeons

try clay
if not clay then polish
if not hand polish then you will have to try correcting it
if not correction than paint
tbh if it wasn't on 'that' long then the bird lime 'shouldn't' have damaged your clearcoat 'that' much... although without seeing it this is impossible to verify

Guy I will try to polish it tommoro steve
-
a mate of mine had bird crap sat on the rear piller of his audi a3 for a couple of hours whilst he was at work and it ate into the paint big time which envolved me giving it several passes with a medium cutting pad and a couple with a finishing pad and some autosmart evo fine finishing compound,
have a go with hand polishing as guy said then have a good look at the area in different angles of light so you can double check that its all gone.

Managed to sort it out a bit much better, I used AG paint renovator good stuff!!

One for the detailing pro's on here , Does the wax not offer any protection to Bird crap? thanks Steve
-
Yes wax does offer some protection, but it is there to take the brunt of all the things that normally damage your paintwork, it is a sacrificial layer that will wear away. The bird crap will have to eat away at the wax before getting to your paintwork.

I have had this but i stayed on about a day then pretty much bubbled the paint
Saw some bird sh!t on the other day so took it straight to arc, now no bird sh!t but a lot of fcuking scratches

Was recommended Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Polish to get rid of a stain in the laquer on the roof left from a massive bird poo that I didn't remove straight away.

Tried a few thing to try and remove it and nothing worked, but this stuff worked a treat. Just used it will a damp microfibre cloth working it in with a little pressure. After a few goes the stain was gone...
Defo recommend it !!

think you might find it has filled it more than corrected it.

your lucky, on m8's bimmer we had to crack out the 320 grit and DA sander and respray the whole bloody bonnet.
seems that birds that have been eating cherrys have carp that is more effective at eating bmw paint than most nasty solvents, it had the laquer and basecoat off leaveing just the primer and taht wasent looking to good
