having some probs with the locking on this 7 seater. every time i use the fob to close the doors, all doors close apart from the drivers and the diesel cap stays open? when i unlock it from the fob (button) the drivers door will lock its just weird. sometimes the diesel cap will close and sometimes it wont. is there anything i can do to reset everything?
thank you all

Try VAG com
-
will that show up on the vag com about the locks? we going to get that done this week hopefully. cheers mate

Yes.
The central locking is all electric.
You should get a fault code, or you can test each door lock on measuring blocks.
-
its weird, we took the lock out (where the key goes into) from drivers side and connected it to the pas side it worked but when connecting back to the drivers side it still had same prob. thanks for that matey

Did you take off the door trim and remove the complete unit? sounds like a failed solenoid.
-
well took the driver side door card off and took the pull handle off and then the motor, we then connected it to the pas side and it worked fine with the remote. basiclly the motor works fine from the pas door, but when we connect it back to the drivers door it plays about and so will the petrol cap lock, where would the solenoid be? is this the solenoid? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-SHARAN-2003-P-S-R-DOOR-LOCK-SOLENOID-/130429199745 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-SHARAN-2003-P-S-R-DOOR-LOCK-SOLENOID-/130429199745) this is what we changed over and worked fine from pas door

Looks like it, i've only done one on an Audi before. Very similar design i believe.
Can you lock the door using vag com output tests?
Could be wiring to the door, or even central convenience control unit at fault.
-
not tried vag com yet, where would the central convenience control unit be?
-
Its usually in passenger footwell on passats and audis, not sure about on a sharan.
