My mates just popped over and his mk3 gti 8 valve is not turning off when u take the key out division had to show him how to turn it off just by pulling the coil pack lead off
What could this be ignition switch?
-
Could be the switch, would it not be easier for him to just stall the car rather than pull leads out??
-
True I did say that and he said it will brake haha
-
are the dash warning lights still on when you cut the car out by pulling coil plug
-
Yeah sumtimes
-
look at the ignition switch next. try disconnecting the plug from it to see if car switches off then. if it does, you need a new switch. if it doesnt, you need to check the wiring behind the fusebox, somewhere there is a short from a permanent live feed to an ign live feed
