Title: 8v GTi Exhaust help please
Post by: 8vSukhi on 20 October 2010, 13:25
Hi,

I've got a couple of genuine VAG exhaust boxes (middle ones) that I've picked up in the past, for my car.

Although they look identical, they have slightly different part numbers.

I tried to fit the one marked 191 119 C to my car and while it fitted straight to the back box, the diameter of the pipe was too big to fit tightly to the pipe running from the front of the car.

The one marked 191 119 AC fitted perfectly.

Is 191 119 C for the 16v cars?

Thanks

Sukhi

non of those numbers exist, plus they're too short it should be 6 numbers?

16v is bigger bore front to back so it wont be that

Hi,

It's the number that is stamped onto the box.  The original VAG one I removed from the car also had the same number (191 119 AC) stamped into it.

One of them has got a barcode on it but unfortunately half of it's missing.

'16v is bigger bore front to back ' - sorry when you mean front to back, do you mean the entire length is of a bigger bore than the 8v?

Thanks

yep, downpipe back are all 2.25" bore. perhaps to fit that other box you need a double clamp like you get at the front between the downpipe and first silencer

Hi,

The bit of the barcode that I can see ends 253 409.

Any ideas?

Thanks

253409  means it is a genuine vag middle box

the one with AC stamped on it is for RP RH and GU engines ?

and the one with C stamped on it is for edition one PF and PB engines ?

according to vag cat
