Title: Engine Hesitation
Post by: seiko on 19 October 2010, 20:03
recently bought a golf gti mk2 8v 1991 on digi fuel system, notice I have a slight hesitation when cursing between 60mph and 80mph, the hesitation will go if I floor the throttle, done a lot of searching on here and changed the things advised, but still no joy, can any one help please, thanks in advance, here are a list of things I have changed,
New blue sensor switch,
New bosh spark plugs,
New fuel filter,
New vac lines,
Cleaned ASV,
Cleaned throttle body,
Cleaned AFM and pipes,
Tuned and set as advise by tuning tip, timing spot on and co2 at 1.8,

yes when I do a steady 60-70 in 4th and 5th gear it hesitates badly, if i floor it it pulls through it, or if i am giving it some beans and floor it through all the gears it pulls like a train , any ideas?

Ah mine does that, isnut like a sort of judder? Its happened to me ever since I put a cold air pipe in, I think mines getting too much air at high speeds, what's your set up like?

if it judders when cruising along at speed randomly, it could be too lean. mine did exactly that. what did you use to set the co? i find the gunsen things a bit hit & miss.  could be an air leak or a problem with the blue temp sensor, check the bung for the pcv in the rocker cover
