Title: hello from the midlands
Post by: panzer kommander on 19 October 2010, 00:44
hi all, just brought our first mk3. had a couple of mk4 gti's in the past but to be honest im a air cooled guy. the missus needed a new car and i suggested a mk2 she wanted another mk4 so we settled in the middle.

paid £400 with tax and test so we will see how it goes, its got a couple of problems when first started on tick over but its sound once warmed up. it defiantly needs to be abit lower and i'd like to change the wheels. ill keep u posted on the progress.

ive also got a 1960 splitty panel van with a 2276cc 150bhp motor and pro street box and a 72 bug no motor yet but i would like it to pull a wheelie.

quick pic of the split

cheers dude, the missus dont want it too low cus shes got to drive it every day but i aint leavin it standard height. give me a week or 2 and it will be down a bit. i gave it a service tonight so while i had the air filter out i drilled a few extra holes in the bottom of the air box. wonder if she notices the extra noise on the way to work tomorrow

i had thought of that but i gone for cheap lowering springs, it gives me more money to spend on the bus

50 years ago the bus left the factory with a not so meaty 1200cc motor but thanks to a previous owner it now sports a 2276cc lump.
