Post by: popleyruss on 18 October 2010, 14:44
changed a few relays as they all look nakerd
still cant work out what one wire is and even if its needed it goes to a relay  holder and its by itself ive uploaded a pic of it before if anyone nos let me no please and also where it goes its in my build thread

i ran a wire to the starter motor and the battery and it turns the engine over also took the fuel line off the rail and its not getting fuel so makes me think that the ignition switch has gone does anyone no the part number and how much it is cheers

the red knackered plug is the jumper for the fuel pump live, mk2s just have a chunky bit o wire from pin 30 to 30b. without that wire the pump relay wont get power. the single wire to the relay looks to me liek its for electric windows? cant really say for sure follow the wires from it.

broken relay above fusebox may be lambda probe power, what colour are the wires?  also what age is the ecu loom, pre-96 need an ecu relay in slot 3, number 109. oh, 53 relay in slot 5 is wrong, pull it out. if the broken relay above fusebox is for lambda it'll plug straight in there so that'll be sorted at least.

you're missing 21 relay from slot 6 for your hazard lights, relay in slot 9 also can be removed you wont need it in a mk2 (seatbelt/lights on warning) 10 you need to put a relay there if you have front fogs, needs to be a #53 relay.
12 is the fuel pump relay, i dont recognise it though it might work. vag one is 67, 80 or 167
