My Car is vibrating wheen Idleing is this a sign my fly wheel is on the way out? what millage do they changing at?
-
I hope not cuz my brother replaced mine at 55k now on 79k and mine is vibrating a bit on idle also.
Although I also been told it may be to do with some judder valve been switched off on the remap IIRC.
Has your been mapped mate.
Don;t think there is a mileage when it goes although it's probably 100k onwards.

No its not been remapped mate, Only does it now and again, its like a vibrating noise rather than the car vibrating
-
Would you explain it as pulsating (SP) as that is the best way I can explain mine.
-
Yeh thats sounds the same as mine mate, I took it to the local garage (not a VW Garage) and he couldnt find anything wrong with it. When my fans are turned off it doesnt normally happen
-
I've not got to the bottom of it either and nothing shows up on scans either.
StevePD did advise that it may be something called a release bearing in the clutch region i'm not too techy so can;t explain properly.
But that doesn;t mean that it's that for deffo but a possibility to add to the list of other unfortunately

It doesnt really bother me it doesnt cause any lost in performance and you cant really hear it outside of the car, I was just worried it might be the flywheel

Same sort of thing Steve said that it's something alot of people just put up with.
Is it ok once the car is warmed up?
I gave my car a good run out yesterday and this morning it didn't really do it as much when i first started it, just after about 5 mins into the journey.
-
If you put it in 4th gear and do about 30mph then floor it, if it judders loads then could possibly be the flywheel. Good to test it on your car as it's not been mapped so on standard torque.

When you say floor it do you mean drop a gear? or just floor it in 4th. Thanks for the advice il try it on the way home later.

It does it any time doesnt seem to matter if the engine is cold or warm

Don't drop a gear just stay in 4th at 30mph then floor it and see if it judders alot, apparently the best way to tell if your DMF is on it's way out.
Mine judders but I think it may be because of the MAP as it now has aprox 310lbs of torque.
