I bet it is sold by 9 am Monday morning!

that price is scandilous !
-
Its what its worth unfortunatley...............have you got a mk6?
-
I dont think it would be shamelessly punted on here if it was that easy to get rid of, unfortunatly most people, myself included draw the line at paying 30K for the GTI.
I left a few option boxes unticked ( never that keen on the free leather i got in my 08 mk5 anyway) and mine list was £27200, i was lucky enough to get an 8% discount bringing the price down to 25K. A fair price for this car i believe, a few dealers are actually specing cars for themselves now because they are not selling their allocation.

You'd be suprised how quickly the cars evo posts on here are gone! regardless of price.

Because he services his customers beautifully.

If EVO was one of those salesman who just come on here to sell a car then i would be the first to complain.
BUT hes not
He helped me out when i was been messed about. Went out his way to help me and to check my cars status for no gain of his own. (I was not dealing with him or his dealership chain or know him from adam)
He has helped many out in his time here and a few other forums hes on, by finding cars in the VW system and pointing people to them at the dealer who had the car or will have the car soon. This was often done after customers whos dealers were happy to take a deposit then messed there customers about and not help them and often lie to them for months on end. Evo pointed these upset angry people/customers in a direction of a car that actually exists or would soon exist.
This thread was simply him letting people know that they have a car coming into stock someone here maybe intersted in and considering what hes done in the past for some people here i just see that as an extension of him helping.
The post that says about dealers ordering upfront that is true but its not because theres now not enough customers. Go try and order a factory order now, you will be waiting 6 months at least for your car.

Evo is a grand guy. Extremely helpful and thoughtful.
One of the very few honest car salesmen around.
-
thanks for sticking up for me guys : ) was thinking of ranting back but my colleague and I laughed at the comment about "a few dealers are actually specing cars for themselves now because they are not selling their allocation"
Ah well I will continue to serve.
-
You do seem to be a good sort Evo, but the GTD being more desirable than a GTI comment will never go away.

Oh that was one heated thread.
You well?

But was it all WORTH it?

I'm good thanks. You ? I'm taking a back seat these days as moving house. Boy is that stressful.

Seems i might have stepped on a few toes here oops !, firstly let me apologise to anyone that has been offended, that was not my intention. I was just stating my position on a 30K GTI.
Quick question Evo, are you saying that my statement "a few dealers are actually specing cars for themselves now because they are not selling their allocation" is untrue ?
I was offered 2 GTIs from different dealers before i ordered mine, which took 10 weeks to arrive.....................
-
When did you order yours?
I can imagine you being offered cars, after all we have to order one for stock for our selves as a demo which we havent actually had a demo gti for almost a year as we have sold our demo cars coming through due to lack of 'customer allocation and availability' this is completely different to customer allocated orders.
-
Hi Evo
ordered 12th July, delivered 22nd oct.
I must admit i still dont understand your response. If a dealer has an allocation of 4 per month, and sells them for this month and the following lets say the next 3 months, then the lead times start to get like some have been quoting. If the same dealer wants a car for stock, he hasnt got one simpler as that isnt it ( unless there is another garage within the same group who has allocation )
If another dealer has an allocation of 2 per month and only sells 1, he has to take the car as stock, or as you describe " ordered for stock " to use as a demo.
-
Whats to understand?
they are not making enough cars to meet the demand. simple is it not?
-
I didnt understand Evos reply that was all, i was just trying to point out that some dealers have not sold their allocation hence cars being offered on here.
Ring a few dealers, some have cars unregistered ready to go, not many i admit but some.............
-
Customer allocation is a different thing to demo/stock allocation. Probably the reason they have cars to offer is that they have not sold there current demo and therefor dont register the next one coming through so can offer you that car. Back in june/july 2009 I probably could off offered you dozens of specs of cars as there was quite alot already built ready to go from Emden. I know when I got my GTD last year I had the choice of loads at port. Times have changed from then as they are not simply building cars in hope to sell, also they wont build thousands and thousands of gti's as will flood market and residuals will crumble. A very complicated matter allocation I wish it wasnt.

Hi Evo
My car was ordered July 2010 delivered sept 2010
-
A few of the low delivery times were probably simply amended cancelled orders.
-
Yep, just like mine.
-
Demand still seems strong... ordered mine 4 weeks ago, still no word of build week.
I cant believe dealers have spare allocation... i couldn't find any

Me neither when I was looking. The local dealer is still speaking about 8 months on a new order.
