Title: wheels advice for my poor old mk1
Post by: DAVID ESSEX on 30 January 2005, 20:51
Hello people, I need some advice on the latest piece of my mk1 restoration.
I need and want to get a new set of tyres for my 1982 gti, she is currently in white and red and grey primer but will soon by metalic black.
I'm running the original 9 spoke alloys and I will be keeping them and getting them refurbished so I need some tyres that will look nice with them but maybe be a bit more low profile and tasty.
Any idea?

everyone will recommend a different brand of tyre. I've found the yokie a539's very good if a little fast wearing. if you want to run the wrong tyre size and have your speedo read wrong and your car to age faster then slam on some 175/50/13's

put some ronal turbos on there and strech some 185/45/15 tyres on there they look the bees on mk1s very original but i think they look the best
