Title: Timing belt issues
Post by: AlexMozza on 16 October 2010, 18:05
Having just looked through the guide but am a little confused on how to change the timing belt as the guide says i need a special 3/4 star nut :O

Checked with halfords and they have not got one so is there any other way I can move the star bolt to TDC as i only need to move the engine not dismantle it.

Hopefully thats not to hard to understand :)

Ta!

Not sure exactly what you mean here. Are you talking about turning the engine to line up the marks?

I think you mean the crank pulley bolt. Thats a standard hex isnt it?

I think it's a 18 or 19mm 12 point socket.

Above yes. You can use an ordinary 12 point socket on it.

if your struggling to find a socket, a 19mm(ithink) ring end of a spanner fits perfectly
