Post by: sk8boy73 on 15 October 2010, 18:06
Hello people
My 8v has started to idle high!
If you blip the throttle it will settle at 10 thou and then go up to 20thou!
Any ideas?
Cheers john

Have you got an f1 engine in your car?

In all seriousness it sounds like an ISV problem, the metallic cylindrical tube on top of the rocker cover. I think you can clean it with carb cleaner but have a search just to make sure I am right.

check the idle switch clicks off and on when you open/shut throttle and the wiring to the throttle body hasnt snapped. make sure throttle shuts all the way to the stop firmly. idle switch is underneath to tricky to get to if you need to adjust it
