Ooops, my fault (feck it) I've just chipped my bumper by reversing into the front of another parked car. I was to busy talking and not listening to my reversing sensors.
More bloody money down the drain........ Yes I could touch it in myself but I'm no Picasso, so I will leave it to the professionals. At least theres no dent.
Its a job for my old mate Tony Daher from Chips Away who did a perfect job on my car before. I've booked him to come and fix it next Wednesday.
p.s. Asker my cars come out in sympathy for you!

^ My car perfection OCD can't take this

Tipex

What are those lines in the paint at the bottom of the picture? Did they paint that bumper with a brush?

It's just a bit of water where I wiped the bumper before I took the picture

I dont mean this in a horrible way but having parking sensors and STILL hitting the car is up there with the elite FAILS. If it makes you feel better I kerbed one wheel and royally f**ked the other both in the space of a week so I'm also on the fail boat.
Unlucky mate :(

Tipex
If I was selling the car back to the dealer tomorrow then yes a bit of tipex would be perfect for the job

Thanks Alan D, I feel such a Failure now and am just about to call the Samaritans
No excuse I guess, but I was taking a stressful works call at the time so I wasn't thinking straight and concentrating when parking. Oh well, I shall just have to fiddle my expenses to get the money back on the repair
Did you kerb those nice wheels on your car in your sig? Great looking car by the way...... Oh well mate, it happens to the best of us
-
I have indeed kerbed them ones. Nothing a wheel refurb cant fix, but its yet more money I could without spending being thrown at the car.

Give up the kerb crawling to avoid further accidents

So sorry to hear this Martin. Bloody annoying especially with parking sensors beeping away. My car kills all sounds when engaged in reverse and I never park whilst on the phone or drive for that matter(try and avoid). Tony is fab.
I wish he can teach the VW bodyshop how to paint bumpers! Mine has to go back for the 5th time next week.
I am still The Bumper Bandit! :lipsealed:
Car Love is a Many Splendoured Thing but bloody costly.
I think I am going to install Bull Bars front and rear + a tow bar for protection!
Hope you get it fixed perfectly.

Never mind the paint chip, those exhaust tips are a disgrace

Thanks for pointing that out Mike, I have taken your boll*cking on board and I promise to rectify my dirty exhaust tips first thing in the morning.
Once again, I apologise for my slackness in this department
No one likes a dirty pipe
-
Just seen the picture of the chip.
I had one in exactly the same place on my old bumper and touched it up. It was exactly the same size and shape too, mah dear.

Could you really see it after you touched it up? I'm so fussy........ I just want it to be as perfect as possible without spraying the bumper?

Martin, I could not see it easily after I touched it up. I showed this to Tony and he felt it was not worth spraying.
I would suggest you carefully touch it up and if you feel it is not obvious anymore, leave it.
The good thing is it is below line of sight. The bad thing is you know it is there.

I thought Chips Away were expensive when i went there for my Alloy Referbishment.
Are they the ones based at the Roundstone?
-
Their Head Office is in Kidderminster.
They operate a Nationwide Franchise. Don't know anything about their wheel refurbishment or prices for this.
Anyway, good work costs good money, I suppose.

Normal service has been resumed..... my chipped bumper has been fixed

Another great job from Tony Daher of Chipsaway West London ( M: 07736887000 )
You will also notice my exhaust tips are a bit cleaner now after a bit of elbow grease over the weekend
-
Nice Job  Good to see it back to normal..
-
Nice job.
Nice tips

And who, dearest Martin, introduced you to Tony Daher?
You owe me big time.
-
^^and me as well  Top geezer he did mine too!!
-
Yep and a special thanks to Asker for introducing me to Tony.
-
So pleased for you, Martin mon ami, that you once again have a perfectly formed rectal recess in your pretty white arse.
At last, we can be classified as bum chums!
-
How much would Tony charge me for polishing out a light scuff on my front bumper??? Just need machining I think. Not deep, but has taken the sheen off

I'm going to give chips away a call local to me Derby / Nottingham, as we have a stone chip on the front bumper or our CW mk6 about the same size as your rear bumoer chip.
As a comparrison can you PM what they charges in London?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
-
No idea, as I have not used them for ages.
MAW73 is the one to ask.
-
