Post by: LowAsFook on 14 October 2010, 21:04
Not sure if this is in the right section so sorry in advance.

Right i have a nice little old school steering wheel that fits onto a mk2 steering boss i have, my quistions are...

On the mk3 steering colum (as we all know) the spines are to big, but under these spines is there the smaller early mk2 spines?

How do i go about pulling the bigger spines off of the littler spines? If ofcourse i am right in thinking there is smaller ones underneath.

Im sorry to say i used to own a fiesta and am new to the VW badge ( but how much better the VW is than the ford  ) LoL

many thanks for any ansers

either pop the nut back onto the column (with the wheel off) and bash it (not the column itself) with a hammer & block of wood. you'd probably need to re-extend your colum afterwards, as it is telescopic.

or

you might be lucky with a 3 legged puller, but this didnt work for me
