Title: Cup Holder Mk2
Post by: moby dick on 14 October 2010, 09:25
Anyone heard of a way to fit a cup holder to Mk2s? Not the grotty air vent kind. I have tried google with no luck. I am tired of getting hot coffe in my crotch. I am getting old

You could fabricate one pretty easily, I just have no idea where it could go.

I've seen people slide one over the corner of the plastic plate that sits on the door card behind the wing mirror.

Looks neat but an awful lot of work I would say for a cup holder and thanks for the tip.

They do look out of place slightly.

Just wedge it between the seat and the hand brake.

My guess is that almost all of us have split a drink in our mk2's

If the have the old dash with the tray instead of the centre vents, you can wedge a can in there.

I have one for sale by the way.

If you need to drink coffee in your Golf2 then you're doing it wrong.

No one eats in my car, no one drinks in my car.

It's not even like I'm a concours guy, I just hate peoples greasy fingers all over the seats and handles

If you need to drink coffee in your Golf2 then you're doing it wrong.

If you are drinking hot coffee whilst driving, I hope I am nowhere near you.

Mk 2 Golfs did not come with a cup holder - don't do it.
