I currently have a mk2 16v and have just done a engine change. I am currently stuck on a bit of the project and wondered if you could help me out please.
What I want to know is on the end of the block on the side which the dist is can you tell me which colour wires go where on all the single plug in ones around that area and also the colour of the wire on the oil sender just on the back of the block.
Also the oil cooler above the oil filter has two oil pressure sensors on top with a wire plugged on to each with a rubber cone over. What colour is the front and back sensor and what colour wire is in each one.

I'll post a picture of the dist area and behind the block tomorow there is one jusy under the dist near the Brown one and another sender just behind the block

Thanks for your help everyone. I have wired the senders as stated what is the one on the back of the block?
Also my oil light flashes there is no buzzing ect.
and my temp gauge on the clock not the digital display does not move. Any ideas ?
There is a oil leak somewhere near the oil cooler there is some oil around the crankcase breather. Can this be a problem?

if you mean back of the head? its for oil temp on the MFA.
Oil lamp flashing? that is one of your sensors ontop of the oil cooler or you have a serious lack of oil pressure :huh:
The temp gauge problem is one of your 3 sensors foobared on the R/H side of the head.
I think its blue/white :undecided:

it has new sensors one white at the front and one black at the back. what could i check to find out why there is a lack of pressure. :smiley:

black you say? that's likely to be the wrong one. you want a brown or blue one, black vw one is 1.4bar and the one you need is 0.3 bar. however aftermarket ones might not be the same as vw ones, best to whip the sensor out and read the markings. white is 1.8 bar with a yellow wire, brown or blue is 0.3 bar with the blue/black wire.
